Fossoway Community Development Trust – JustGiving
Members are asked to each seek a new member to continue the growth of the FCDT. New members will pay a one off £5 and receive a copy of our Community Action Plan. We also have an associate member category for people who live outside of the Fossoway District.
We are delighted to say that we now have 100 household members and have raised over £200k since we became a registered charity in May 2023.
The Trust held its first annual review of our CAP on 14th June. Unfortunately only 27 people attended the event. We would like to receive more feedback from our members on the work we are doing – how can we achieve this?
We would like to thank the Highland dancers and Maureen Bray from the Dillon-Bray School of Highland Dance who entertained us.

Project – Community Bus
Many thanks to the Kinross-shire fund, administered by Foundation Scotland, who have awarded us a grant of £1980 towards the running of the Community Bus. Part of the award will enable us to provide free use of the bus to Fossoway Primary School to a value of £600.
The Bus Wrap is progressing and it will be applied week commencing 27th July.
The Community Bus passed its MOT and regular safety check.
There is an active programme of day trips but sadly many have had to be cancelled through lack of interest. However, this is the first full year of operation and lessons are being learnt. Group Travel bookings have been numerous and we have been able to raise monies from these, and those monies support the ongoing costs of running the Bus.
Use of the Bus is open to groups of individuals, established groups and organisations, so if there is a need for travel, please contact Tony on anthony@fossowaytrust.com.
Please note we are adopting a policy of a minimum number of travellers for each event.
All trips can be seen on our Facebook page

The Trust has been awarded PKC ACAF funding to carry out a valuation, survey and estimate of renovation costs of the School and House which is now underway.
We are also in the process of seeking DTAS Green Shoots funding to cover legal costs for the proposed acquisition of the whole site.
To strengthen our business case we are carrying out a survey of all local crafters and artists on their interest in running workshops in the future Blairingone Culture and Heritage Hub. The survey can be accessed online – https://forms.gle/AVivqpRKXeTER7AW8

Project 1 – New Bridge Over River Devon – Mike Barnacle
We have received the report from JML on estimated costs, feasibility and design of both bridge options and the Bridge Working Group met on the 10th June to review it. The conclusion is that the project is very complicated and before progressing any further with either option there are still questions requiring clarification.

Project 3 – Creation of Heritage Trail and Protection of Local Heritage – Sarah Bruce Jones & Nicola Marchant
The Trust has been awarded a grant of £43,754.70 by Rumbling Bridge Hydro, administered by Foundation Scotland, to cover the costs of an oral historian and maintenance of the Lade. These are two critical elements of our Heritage Trail Project.
The Heritage working group will be meeting to agree on a role descriptor and appointment process for the oral historian.
JML Contracts will be carrying out a survey of the Lade week commencing 22nd June. Local land owners approval has been sought and there will be a letter to local residents.
We are still seeking a Professional Advisor who is a conservation accredited architect or surveyor who would manage the maintenance work on Moubray Hall.
We are also in the process of submitting an application to Perth Heritage Trust for further funding.
We have an active and very creative working group – if you would like to be involved email Nicola at ncmarchant@fossowaytrust.com
