The first projects for the Trust will be as follows.
Blairingone School
The Fossoway Community Development Trust Ltd, a registered charity, and Blairingone sub-Committee plan to take initially lease with the long-term aim of purchasing the Blairingone School through Community Asset Transfer.
The aim is to develop a community hall with a focus on health and wellbeing centre which also enhance the biodiversity of the village. Currently all of the rural villages in the Fossoway District have a village hall which acts as a local hub for residents to socialise and businesses.
The ability to have a location to host businesses supports the Scottish Governments 20-minute neighbourhood strategy as our communities have limited public transport, shops, and access to the infrastructure to support daily lives.
Blairingone School Potential Development Site.
The Fossoway Community Development Trust is working with PKC on the Community Asset Transfer of the old Primary School and attached schoolhouse to the Community. The Trust would like to buy this to provide a Community facility for the village of Blairingone as well as for the benefit of the Fossoway Community.
The School site is situated on the busy A977 from Kincardine to Kinross on the way out of Blairingone village, the first village in Perth &Kinross, just before the Church, which also has public parking. The back of the building has beautiful views of the Ochils with good access from the road with a large car park at the back and some parking at the front.
We are seeking funding to buy and refurbish the whole site. This comprises of;

Large room at back of the building with serving hatch to Kitchen
Room that was formally a large professional kitchen
Entrance Hall with 2 sets of toilets
Front and back entrance
Separate toilet
Schoolhouse: Front Door and Hall way

To provide a Community Facility and for the site to be an asset to the Community we are looking to rent out a range of rooms to maintain the building and for an income for the Trust. This is a traditional stone building and once renovated will provide flexible and attractive accommodation for a range of businesses such as retail, office space or health and well being rooms. Bridge Over the River Devon
The Trust has been approached by Blairhill Land Ltd regarding a replacement bridge. The organisation is willing to sell the Trust a Rennie Mackintosh bridge for roughly £50k.
Work is needed to identify a suitable location for the replacement bridge, and this is the focus of ongoing discussion.
